Devastating Nepal Earthquake 2015-04-25 Preliminary report on structures

Fatalities: More than 1800, It will rise as data collection is in progress [nearly 9000 total death toll (updated on 2022)]
Structural Damages:
Near by the Epicenter most of the houses were built of stone masonry with mud mortar, some of RCC framed and few of brick Masonry. As reported and shared in social media and news from Nepal, Most of the stone masonry houses collapsed with in about 100 km from epicentral distance.
In Kathmandu valley many world heritage site’s structures vanished. Many monumental structures flattened. Dharahara (9 stories tower) suffered from 1934 earthquake with collapse at 5th stories now collapsed from first floor level. Many RC framed structures got collapsed in Kathmandu valley, death toll may rise more in Kathmandu and rest of the country.
Several villages in Lamjung, Gorkha, Rasuwa and Dhading districts got collapsed where most of the structures are of stone masonry with mud mortar structures.
